4 weeks to go

  • Sunday 7th May 2017

4 weeks is not very long to go, the past few weeks seem to have flown by. This week has been another good one for riding – 4 rides covering 131 miles but more important 2,495 meters (8,100 feet in the old money) of climbing. That equates to almost twice up Ben Nevis. This coming week I hope to do more of the same as hill climbing is going to be the key to a good ride to John O’Grotes.

Small milestone this week on the weight front with another stone passed – I can now say that I weigh 11 stone something (actually 11 stone 13 1/2 pounds). Still over weight according to the NHS website but I will carry on regardless. People keep telling me that I look like I have lost loads but it’s all relative to the point I started – 65 years of being on the fat side (I was 12 stone 7 at birth).

Can’t think of anything the needs to be done or bought before the ride but expect that I will when it is to late.
